SketchUp Pro: The intuitive and most fun 3D modelling software in 2022

With SketchUp you can design any object or environment in 3D

Why use SketchUp Pro?

  • Create 3D visualization of concepts and designs you have stuck in your brain within minutes.

  • An award winning tool used worldwide by millions of digital designers passionate about creating real, 3D designs for high-paying clients.

  • Impress your customers by creating immersive, explorable 3D models.

  • The cost? It is the same as buying one coffee a day.

Intuitive 3D modeling

The reason why SketchUp Pro has quickly established itself internationally is its intuitiveness, a feature that makes it unique in the world of 3D and that guarantees a quick learning to anyone who starts using it.

SketchUp Pro’s interface and tools make it easy to model any object in 3D. In fact, we operate as if we were drawing freehand while maintaining the precision of CAD. This approach, oriented to the designer ,finally makes possible the transition to 3D design attempted by many without success.

With SketchUp Pro, in fact, creating volumes and customizing them is really within everyone’s reach, in a few steps you can model objects of any shape and size.

Import / export from CAD

With SketchUp Pro, you don’t lose the work you normally do with CAD because you can import and export your drawings. For example, you can start from a plan drawn on CAD to study your project by easily modeling three-dimensional volumes; or you can create the 3D model from a photo. Once the project is done, you can instead export flat scale or perspective views for use in CAD.

Variety of graphic styles

SketchUp Pro includes dozens of ready-made styles that display the 3D model with the graphics that best reflect your way of expressing yourself: from hand sketching, to watercolor, from technical drawing to the old photo. All these predefined styles are customizable and you can therefore create the expressive form that distinguishes you, thus increasing the possibility of acquiring orders.

At any stage of the work you can switch from one style to another to see which is the most suitable to show the project and then export captivating and personalized images.

Photo insertion and modeling from photos

SketchUp’s powerful Match Photos feature allows you to create photo-insertions and modeling from a photo. With these performances you can very quickly evaluate the feasibility of a project, show a realistic proposal to the client or study the design choices.

With SketchUp Pro, you can get the 3D model directly from a photo of a building, scaling it and easily tracing its geometry with the usual SketchUp Pro drawing tools. In practice you get the relief of the built based on the imported photographic image. You can then add the volumes modeled in SketchUp Pro to the imported photo, resulting in a high-impact, realistic photo result, in which you can even simulate exploration within the model.

The same functionality can be used to furnish or modify an interior environment. That is, you can get the 3D model directly from one of his photographs and then immediately give space to your creativity avoiding the boredom of manual relief.

Professional and interactive table-up

The LayOut module included in SketchUp Pro, specific for the layout and presentation of the project, allows you to easily create highly professional project tables. With LayOut you can automatically create and layout plans, elevations, sections and 3D views. All these works remain connected to the 3D model and are therefore always updated with each change.

Import / export 3D terrain and satellite photos

With SketchUp Pro you can import from satellite images and 3D model of the terrain of the environment in which you need to place your project. The import takes place through OpenStreetMap, but you can also do the opposite, that is, export your 3D model, in KMZ format, to display it in the real context for example on Google Earth. All this allows you to motivate your design choices and show the customer the landscape impact of the project in reality.

Dynamic components

SketchUp Pro allows you to create your own library of dynamic components, i.e. parametric objects with preset characteristics such as geometry, materials, etc. that can be modified on the fly when they are included in the project.

2.5 million free downloadable 3D components

With SketchUp Pro you have over 2.5 million 3D models that can be downloaded for free from the 3D Warehouse, the largest 3D resource on the web. They are all real objects created by the same manufacturers of the various sectors: furniture, appliances, plant engineering and others. With SketchUp you will no longer have the problem of completing the project in a professional way down to the smallest details.

Over 300 applications (also free) for all needs

As if the native tools were not enough, from the SketchUp Pro Extension Gallery you can find, among over 300 applications, the one that solves your specific design needs:from rendering, to 3D printing, from reporting to animation; for all sectors of activity: engineering, architecture, furniture and many others. You are spoilt for choice.

Metric computation

SketchUp Pro automatically produces the metric calculation of the designed 3D model for which it creates a series of tabular reports. You can export detailed lists of each entity in the model complete with all its attributes (name, description, surface, volume, etc.). SketchUp Pro exports these documents to popular formats, such as HTML or CSV, allowing you to import them to Excel or your preferred calculation software. In this way you can proceed to a further subsequent analysis to create estimates, estimates, production lists, purchase orders, etc.

BIM Functionality

SketchUp Pro allows you to attribute the BIM classification to the objects of the project thus allowing the exchange of data with other 3D modeling software. The format adopted is the IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), the BIM data standard created and managed by the BuildingSmart Association for the exchange of information between the software used in the construction world.
